A new clip surfaced online hours ago showing 12-year old Kanye West dropping a short freestyle all the way back in 1990. Just the fact that this footage exists is pretty incredible, and the fact that it’s now available for the world to see is a beautiful thing.
He may have made his name in production first, but it’s clear he always had a desire to be on the mic. The home video closes out with the line, “nothing less could come from West,” which isn’t too far off from something he might say now
